Ayla and International Sherry Week invite you to the Sherry week pour-and-pair cocktail competition at international tapasbar Ayla, Rotterdam.

Sherry is not just an aperitif or dessert wine, but is extremely versatile and pairs superbly with an extraordinarily wide variety of foods, from delicious snacks such as olives, almonds and cheese, to Fish, to pork to desserts.
Ayla invites you to create a cocktail based on Spain’s most renowned fortified wine and pair it to any tapa, desserts, aperitivo or digestive of your choice.

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧
You can register until October 27th by emailing hello@ayla.nl with
- the name of your cocktail,
- Sherry products used and
- which food item you will pair your cocktail too.

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨
• you can use 3 – 5 ingredients
• one of these ingredients needs to be Sherry
• home made products are welcomed
• the cocktail needs to be accessible, meaning not over complicated
• The cocktails will be judged on creativity, flavor balance, use of sherry in innovative way, consistency and strength of pairing.

The competition will be judged by a jury of prominent Sherry and cocktail experts

The first prize is a night at PREMIER SUITES **** with a Sherry breakfast at Ayla.
Further prizes consist of unique Sherry collections
All contestants will receive original Vinos de Jerez Sherry Wines merchandise

The winning cocktail will be served at Ayla throughout the Christmas season (Dec 1st – Jan 5th at Ayla)

The event will be covered by a professional photographer, who will capture you and your creation, this photo can be used free of charge (with credit to Ayla and the photographer).
Sherry products for the event will be supplied by Karakter Wijnimport and Bodegas Baron S.A, pairing dishes will be provided by Ayla.
